Lonely Island’s ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’ Red-Band Trailer: BieberSpinalTap
This movie looks fucking hilarious.
The Lonely Island are leaping back onto the big screen with the musical mockumentaryPopstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and the movie’s celebrity-packed first trailer was released this morning. (Judd Apatow is on board as a producer.) Andy Samberg is starring as Conner4Real, a pampered pop prince powerful enough to order holograms of Adam Levine and make them hump each other on stage. (Fellow Lonely Islanders Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer play his DJ and lyricist, respectively.) Judging from the trailer, this movie is going to be stuffed to the gills with preposterous cameos: Simon Cowell, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Snoop Dogg, and DJ Khaled all show up alongside comedy vets like Bill Hader, Will Forte, and Sarah Silverman. Joanna Newsom brings Hader back from the dead with a defibrillator! It’s absurd! I have no idea what’s going to happen to Conner4Real’s career in this movie, but I’m positive it’ll be funny.
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is rumbling into theaters on June 3rd.
