EINSTEIN-SIGNED BIBLE snags $68,500 at AUCTION.

Einstein.

Here is a Hell of a collector’s item. Alby Einstein and his wife once signed a Bible for their friend Harriett Hamilton. Signing a Bible? And you’re not God? Isn’t that some sort of False Idol stuff? Whatever — anyways. Now that same Bible has been sold at auction, and it went for a lot of money. Lots.

The Verge:

A bible signed by Albert Einstein has sold for $68,500 at auction in New York City. The book, which the famous physicist referred to as “a great source of wisdom and consolation and should be read frequently,” was also signed by Einstein’s wife Elsa, in 1932, as a gift to their American friend Harriett Hamilton. Fine art auctioneer Bonhams estimated the book would reach between $1,500 and $2,500 but interest from global bidders drove it far higher than pre-sale guidance.
