Monday Morning Commute: Tiger Blood. Adonis DNA.

Oh how the time flies! Look, there it goes again! Lord Linear has jumped into his One-Way Rider and just keeps cruisin’ along, never deviating or allowing for honest reflection! BLAST! If only some time-hoppin’ bandit, a charming rogue with a proclivity for anachronism, could save us! If only…

Welcome, my babies, to the Monday Morning Commute! This is the spot where we share our plans for the week – not the shackles of Work/Eat/Sleep/Repeat, but the open fields of pop culture and entertainment to which we’ll flee. First I’ll let you traverse my caffeine-addled mindscape, and then you hit up the comments and grant me access to those neurons of yours that still fire.

Let’s do this.

Rockin’ / BTBAM – Specular Reflection (Teaser)

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues will introduce two human characters who live in different planes of existence, separated by millions of light years,” comments guitarist Paul Waggoner. “We find that each is confronted with similar personal issues that they need to reckon with. Both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever. Musically, it sounds like BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME. The record has elements of aggression, beauty, quirkiness, and pure cacophony. For ‘Part 1′, we establish several themes which I’m sure will be revisited in the lengthier ‘Part 2′, which is something we really look forward to. We love to expand on simple ideas and see where they take us.”

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues Track Listing:

01. Specular Reflection
02. Augment of Rebirth
03. Lunar Wilderness

Considerin’/The Mythologization of Charlie Sheen

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

“I’m tired of pretending like I’m not special,” Sheen told NBC. “I’m tired of pretending like I’m not bitching a total freaking rock star from Mars. And people can’t figure me out. They can’t process me. I don’t expect them to. You can’t process me with a normal brain.”

He later said he has “tiger blood and Adonis DNA.”

Inspired By/Gavin Harrison’s Approach to Drumming
[Apply to Art/Life]

You can be very creative when you’ve got parameters. When someone says, “Okay, play whatever you want,” it’s hard to think of something. When someone says, “Play something that’s in sixteens and it’s got some holes in it,” then you think, “Okay, well he still hasn’t told me what to play, but I’ve already got some ideas…”

It’s easier to be more creative in tight parameters.

And there we have it, my aspirations for the week: mental evolution through art and insanity. What’re you doing this week?
