‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 is dropping Fall 2020. This is the way (to give me a boner)!

the mandalorian season 2 fall 2020

The Mandalorian season 2 got a release date! Fall 2020. I ain’t seen the season finale of The Mandalorian yet. So, no fucking spoilers! But, I’ve been fucking obsessed with the first seven episodes. Some ups-and-downs, but overall? The Star Wars I’ve been hankering for since 1999. Therefore, this motherfucking news has me torqued.

Polygon:

The second season of Star Wars streaming series The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney Plus sometime in fall 2020, series co-creator Jon Favreau confirmed on Friday — the same day the first season of The Mandalorian comes to its satisfying conclusion.

Favreau tweeted the news alongside what appears to be a maquette of a nearly nude Gamorrean, the green-skinned, pig-snouted species that first appeared in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi as guards at Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

We don’t yet know what season 2 of The Mandalorian will bring narratively, other than more planet-hopping antics from Din Djarin and the Child (aka the highly merchandisable Baby Yoda), and some additional talent behind the camera. Favreau says he plans to direct an episode of season 2 himself (he wrote some episodes of season 1, but was too busy filming 2019’s The Lion King remake to sit in the director’s chair), and Carl Weathers, who plays Greef Karga, will also step in to direct an episode. And we’re likely to learn more about that cool weapon that Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) fires up in the season finale’s teaser.

In addition to more Mandalorian, Star Wars fans will get two additional series on Disney Plus, one featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and the other starring Rogue One’s Cassian Andor (Diego Luna). Those shows do not yet have confirmed release dates. As for the future of Star Wars after The Rise of Skywalker, here’s what we know about Lucasfilm’s plans for movies and TV series set in a galaxy far, far away.
