Lara Croft’s next adventure looks like it will be her darkest yet. After teasing the next game in the series in March, Square Enix has finally shown off the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider with an extended trailer today. While it doesn’t show much of how the game will play, the new clip gives a good idea of the tone — and things don’t seem all that good for Lara. The three-minute trailer shows her struggling through a dark jungle, questioning “What will I become?” According to Square, the game will task Lara with saving the world from a Maya apocalypse.
The new game is being helmed by Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal, which took over the series from Crystal Dynamics. And unlike the two most recent games in the series, it’ll be launching across all platforms simultaneously: Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 14th.

I can’t wait for this game. The Tomb Raider titles been bringing heat, and now with Drake sidelined, they must fulfill all my spelunking and murder needs.
