‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ Story Trailer: Iron Men & Social Strife

I always play this games. Always. I can’t help it. I don’t want to help it.

Because if everything was going well, we wouldn’t need so many black ops supersoldiers, would we? Activision and Treyarch released the official story trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and it doesn’t look like a future anyone but a Call of Duty character would be comfortable in. There’s flooding, drought, riots, terrorist attacks and some ominous sirens. There’s also some birds, which could be good or bad, depending. Luckily, we’ve got all sorts of new cybernetic enhancements to fight against our enemies, though that seems to be part of the problem. Here’s the quote to go with the story:

“In our quest to create the ultimate soldier, we’ve pushed for the enhancement of our greatest weapon: our mind. But with this new power comes an unimaginable new threat…”

From what we can glean from the trailer, one of our old squadmates has lost his mind as the result of some neural implants (and maybe some other things), and is going on some sort of rampage. There’s the implication that there is something very wrong with whatever institution the main character has put his faith in, and that the implants he’s received may be taking over his mind, something of a call back to Black Ops 1, with a cyberpunk twist. Also, Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) seems to be around. Call of Duty: SVU?
