‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’ Sequel leaked by voice actress. Awesome|Oops.

head nod.

It was sort of assumed (by me) that Wolfenstein: The New Order was getting a sequel. Game was a tight-as-fuck, rewarding, arcade demolition experience. That quite a few people seemed to enjoy. But if I had any doubts of a second installment coming, they were evaporated by the comments let slip by voice actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.

UPROXX:

Wolfenstein: The New Order was a surprise; after years of lackluster attempts to revive the franchise, it explored an alternate history where the Nazis won and actually had the courage to grapple with the crimes against humanity the Nazi regime was responsible for. Tastefully, even, which is quite an achievement for a game where you get a trophy for blowing up a giant robot. And, unsurprisingly, a sequel is in the works.

Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, the voice of Anya in the first game, let it slip during an interview that the sequel is on the way. She didn’t reveal it in so many words, but, well, her statements speak for themselves:

I’m working on a video game, first part of which I have already made. Now we’re making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler.

If that weren’t enough, as VG 24/7 points out, she’s acted in precisely one video game. So, yeah. They’re working on Wolfenstein.

Hopefully Anya is the main protagonist. The New Order felt like a natural resolution to B.J. Blazkowicz’s role in the series, and Anya’s side story was one of the more interesting bits of writing from the first game. Besides, if that means we get more of the game’s hilarious alternate history soundtrack, that’s even better.
