WEEKEND OPEN BAR: Your Character!

[WEEKEND OPEN BAR: The one-stop ramble-about-anything weekend post at OL. Comment on the topic at hand. Tell us how drunk you are. Describe a comic you bought. This is your chance to bring the party.]

Welcome to the open bar! Pull up a chair, pop open a brew, and join the conversation! I’ll get things started.

With which fictional character do you most closely identify?

Now, I’d like to believe that I’m a regular Han Solo. Y’know, the type of dude that’s apt to be found in seedy bars, chillin’ with his best friend and refusin’ to take crap from anybody. Even if it means shooting them in the face. A charming antihero, I’d like to stand for my own brand of justice and keep my boss-status even when expressing affection.

But that’s not me.

In reality, the fictional character with whom I empathize most is Michael Bluth from Arrested Development. Consisting of individuals of the most outlandish, preposterous sort, the Bluth family would surely fall apart if not for the steadfast efforts of Michael. George Sr. would never get out of prison, GOB would never find employment outside of the world of illusions, Tobias would never get another audition. Michael is the glue that holds the Bluth family together.

Or, at least that’s what he’d like to believe.

But at the end of the day, Michael is just as insane as the rest of his family, having no qualms about disparaging his son’s girlfriend or partaking in Cornballer sessions. So even though he may appear to be the pillar of the Bluth family, he’s just as damaged as the rest of `em.

And I can dig that.

So what type of characters do we have amongst the OL faithful? Super Mario? Macho Man Randy Savage? Veronica Mars?

Which fictional character are you?
