A Friendly Reminder to Buy Kid Cudi Today

Pepsibones and myself have been pretty high on Kid Cudi for a while now. I was pretty excited about his album Man on the Moon: The End of the Day. And then I heard it, and it lit my expectations on fire and kicked them down the stairs. In a good way.

I was expecting a decent hip hop album with some enjoyable lyrics. Instead I got a trippy concept album narrated by Common. It has a lot of thematic elements that I could really get behind; self-doubt as an artist, depression, not giving a fuck what other people think, and metaphysical pondering. I’m seriously serious. This album is a head-trip. It’s an uplifting narrative just carved from the life of Cudi himself.

Inevitably a zillion people will hate. He gets AIR PLAY OH MY GOD which is enough for a lot of hip hop douchebags to hate him, and he’s also tied to Kanye. Oh well. If you dig shaking your ass and hearing some hip hop that is slightly outside the norm, bump this shit.
