‘World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth’ is the game’s next expansion. Check out the trailer, too

Blizzard has announced the next expansion pack for World of Warcraft. It’s titled Battle for Azeroth, and it’s once again got them Alliance and Horde folks beefing.

Polygon:

Blizzard announced the newest expansion to World of Warcraft today, and, unusually for the developer, simultaneously released a full cinematic for it.

Above, you can watch the full opening cinematic of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. After years of expansions in which the Alliance and Horde, the quintessential player factions of Warcraft, have been forced to team up against a larger threat, Battle for Azeroth has no distractions. The Horde and Alliance are finally getting down to all-out warfare.

The opening cinematic features a climactic battle between Horde forces, led by the banshee elf Sylvanas Windrunner; and an attacking Alliance army headed by the human King Anduin Wrynn and the worgen lord Genn Graymane. Though both sides show off impressive martial capabilities (and very nice cheekbones), they seem, as always, equally matched for total destruction.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth was announced today at BlizzCon 2017, and does not yet have a release date. Check out our feature on it!
