We’ve always known that Microsoft *cannot* fucking move Xboxes in Japan. But have we really appreciated how fucking dire the situation is, really? I mean, I certainly didn’t.
Rockstar North boss Leslie Benzies has left after nearly 20 years
The boss of Rockstar North, Leslie Benzies, has left the company. I would be worried, except that I generally (and perhaps unfairly) credit the Houser brothers for the classic content produced. Still though — helping to run the Rockstar juggernaut is worthy of praise, and I can’t blame the guy for being exhausted from it.
Amazon Prime offering 20% off of new game releases
Man, this is great goddamn news for me. I rock Amazon Prime for everything, from KY Jelly to socks. From books I’ll never read to video games. To its streaming service! So I’m already all-in on Prime. But I’m still fucking stoked that Amazon is continuing to sweeten the pot. The company is offering 20 futzing percent off of new games, and as someone who *always* buys them through their service, and buys way too many games, this is tremendous.

Norway: High school students can take eSports instead of gym class
Man, I could have used this development while I was in high school. Now granted, the reason I hated gym in high school was because all I did was play video games. Crush Dew. Eat Wendy’s every day. But man. Being fat and having to huff around the field like a despicable, rolling meat-market would have been jettisoned so quickly for an hour of Quake III: Arena for credit if I had been given the chance.
Original ‘Half-Life’ writer Marc Laidlaw has left Valve
The writer of the original Half-Life has left Valve. I don’t know if this is directly impacting the development of Half-Life 3, or if the game is even *in* fucking development. But this is a bummer.
Sony has sold more than 35 million PlayStation 4s; imagine if they had exclusives!
Yeah, straight trolling in the headline. I love my PlayStation 4. It’s my go-to console, and it appears that I’m not alone. Sony has announced that they’ve sold more than 35 million consoles. As opposed to shipped, which makes the numbers even more impressive.
Report: Nintendo’s new console “NX” to be revealed in June, released in October-November
Man. They’re really doing it, Nintendo. Aren’t they? I stubbornly want to dismiss every report about their upcoming system, since I just snagged their current one last Christmas. And the company ain’t never given me the Zelda on the system they promised, nor a new 3D Mario. Which chaps my ass! But alas, it appears I’m just going to have to #RockTheSerenityPrayer and accept this.
