We all sort of knew it was coming, right? Chris Evans being done with the MCU. But, now it’s been confirmed in stark relief. The actor himself has confirmed he’s throwing up the deuces to the MCU after Avengers 4 reshoots this year.

Here’s a meaty morsel of Avengers 4 rumor to ruminate over, friends. If the EchoChamber is to be believed, Hawkeye will be adopting none other than his alternate identity of Ronin in the movie. I’m using this news to fuel my own baseless speculation that Avengers 4 is going to take place in a post-apocalyptic universe where Thanos won.

Speculation: Avengers 4 is some post-apocalyptic Avengers set in a world where Thanos wins, and like, the movie is about defeating Thanos and using the time cube to reset back to a lesser destroyed world? It would explain Renner’s extreme Mohawk/Ultimates look I guess, and apparently Black Widow is going to be bald. Edgy! Post-apocalyptic!

If Zoe Saldana’s slip-up is legit, and I’m going to go ahead and believe it is, first comes the War for the MCU. Then comes the Gauntlet. It fits in with my self-satisfied prediction, which is that the third Avengers flick is all about Thanos acquiring the Infinity Stones, and the fourth movie is all about him wielding them.

Evangeline Lilly has confirmed that The Wasp is going to be in the fourth Avengers movie. Where does this leave the franchise? Thanos will be making himself known in the third movie, Avengers: Finally Thanos Throws Down. I expected the film to continue this ultimate battle, but perhaps it will be focusing on the shape the MCU to come.

So. First we had Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 and Part 1. Then it was announced that there was not going to be a “Part 1” and “Part 2”, with the third and fourth movies getting their own titles. Now! Now it’s been announced that the third movie futzing *is* Avengers: Infinity War, and the fourth one is untitled. WHEW.
Rumor: Russo Brothers to direct ‘Avengers 3’ and ‘Avengers 4’
Last night the RDJ+CP3=MCU’sCW news broke. And while I dug it, I agreed with most who were all “Wait, Civil War, already?” But what I was hoping (OH HOPES OF HOPE) was that Cap 3 was merely the jumping-off point for Cinematic Civil War. The kick-off, the impetus, the boiling point. And if the rumors of the Russo Brothers maybe/sorta directing the next two Avengers movies are true, it would help perpetuate my hope. Sanctify it. In blood and comic book flesh and the mewling whimper of a decaying star’s doomed infancy.

I’m not going to get TOO FUCKING PUMPED about this news. Because a similar shade of rumor popped up around the release of Avengers. But oh dearest me, if Sony can swing some sort of money-slicked deal with Marvel to make this work, my dick is your battering ram.
