If I was going to hire a head of cybersecurity, it would totally be Zero Cool. You know, Hackers reference? Am I getting too old? Too lame? My back hurts. The lights are dimming.
And I was wondering why HBO GO was running like raw-ass melted over ill performance last weekend. There are allegations that Comcast is privileging bandwidth for its own Xfinity app over others on the Xbox 360.
Pirate Bay and Anonymous are two of the titans of the Fuck You Rules Internet Gang. They don’t roll directly as a posse, but it is sensible to state that due to what the two of them are up to on the reg we may pair them up. This week had them in a bit of a slap fight, with Pirate Bay not particularly cool with something Anonymous was up to.
Word out of the White House is that President Obama will veto CISPA. At this point though, I’m not certain that shit even matters. Hard to imagine the Determined Parties not soldiering on, continually throwing spaghetti until some of it sticks.
Pirate Bay has been banned from UK ISPs courtesy of the courts in that place-nation. That isn’t slowing them down, it isn’t slowing them down at all.
CISPA prevails! As a collective community we must have blown every ounce of protester-load we had getting SOPA nailed into a casket, cause we sure as shit ain’t doing much about CISPA. It’s like SOPA on steroids, has the back acne to prove it, and once slept with your Mom. No kissing, no phone call the day after.
I’ve riffed on CISPA before here on the Mothership. The bastard born from the aborted coils of SOPA, it has every intention of ramming us Internet users in the honeypot with barbed intentions. Its proponents (like Facebook) whisper that it’s harmless. Inevitable. The EFF begs to differ.
SOPA! It died, but like a Phoenix of douche-mastery, it has risen again in a multitude of forms. Its latest iteration can be found in CISPA. This son of a bitch is an old trick in a new form.
The MPAA isn’t taking the death of SOPA laying down. They’re doubling-down and coming up with something nefarious to emerge in its place.
Anonymous has been on the rocks lately, with their leader selling them the fuck out, releasing an OS with malware or some shit, and other unfortunate incidents. They intend on rallying this Saturday by killing the internet. I suppose if you’re going to ball, ball hard.
