Hey! Yet another leak has seemingly confirmed that Superman game by Rocksteady Studios. The game has been rumored forever. Additionally, I think we all sort of know it’s real, right? It’s just been a matter of waiting for official confirmation. Which, by the way, may be next Thursday.

IGN:

A new listing appeared on Game System Requirements with the title of Superman: World’s Finest and the developer listed as Rocksteady Studios.

The listing was noticed by a user on ResetEra who searched on Game System Requirements’ website for currently rumored games to compare credibility, such as GTA VI, Half Life 3, and Bloodborne 2 – with none of them being listed.

Game System Requirements details required specs for PC games, and the user pointed out the Terms of Use and FAQ on the website make it difficult for just anyone to post a random game or rumor. A Devil May Cry 5 listing also appeared on the website last spring, approximately one month prior to the game’s official announcement.

Rumors have been circling around a new Superman game from Rocksteady – the developer behind the Batman: Arkham series – for quite some time, featuring Superman, Batman, and Robin. The most recent rumors popped earlier this year in the run-up to E3 2018.

Another user on ResetEra noted the title of Superman: World’s Finest as a reference to a comic series of the same name, with almost all issues featuring Superman and Batman, with Robin being involved early on.

The rumors have been further bolstered by Rocksteady’s official website, which has had a number of job listings relating to, “a AAA title on the next generation platforms.”

The initial leak of the game title came from a now-deleted 4chan thread, and VG247 reports the rumor alluded to an open world title featuring Superman, Batman, and Robin as playable characters.

Rocksteady was absent from E3 last year, and made a statement about their fans’ disappointment, but said they will share their next project with everyone “as soon as it’s ready.”

Next month’s The Game Awards promises the reveal of 10 news titles, according to Geoff Keighley, and can be streamed right here on IGN on December 6 at 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PT. In the meantime, you can read all of the nominations across 30 categories.
