‘Atlanta’ Season 2 Trailer: Robbin Season Is Here

The first trailer for Atlanta‘s second season! Fuck yeah, dudes.

High Snobriety:

Just two days after it was announced that Atlanta would be returning on March 1, the first trailer for the show’s second season has dropped.

Debuted during the Golden Globes, the mysterious trailer pans slowly over three moody scenes featuring the series’ cast, all to the soundtrack of Sonder’s “Too Fast.”
The long-awaited second season is called “Robbin Season,” a reference to the time before the holidays when reported burglaries skyrocket in Atlanta.

Speaking to journalists at a Television Critics Association panel, Atlanta executive producer and writer (and Donald’s brother) Stephen Glover explained: “It’s a very tense and desperate time. Our characters are in a desperate transition from their old lives to where they’re headed now. And robbin’ season is a metaphor to where we are now.”

At the same panel, both Stephen and Donald Glover revealed that Season 2 takes inspiration from an unlikely source — Tiny Toons Summer Vacation. The children’s video is broken up into different episodes, but according to Stephen Glover, each come together to form a movie. “We took that idea. It’s a whole story, but told in a bunch of little parts,” Stephen explained.

Look out for the second season of Atlanta when it premieres on FX March 1.
