‘Westworld’ Trailer: You’re one of them, aren’t you?

I really want this show to be good.

UPROXX:

HBO’s upcoming drama Westworld might appear to be a strange, sci-fi western on the surface, but the heart of the show (and the original film) is a lot more sinister and mind-bending. So yes, there will be a lot of western, shoot-em-up action in Westworld, but the show is about what runs underneath the surface, as we get to see in this crazy new promo that HBO released tonight.

What happens when the perfectly-planned and crafted western-themed world that was built for entertainment purposes goes awry, and what happens behind-the-scenes with the creators and runners of Westworld? The robotic inhabitants meant to simply flesh out the world and make it feel full of life actually start going crazy and seizing the reins of their lives for themselves, that’s what, and it gets ugly.

The trailer gets intense in a hurry and it shows the kind of mind-bending things the show is planning on jumping into starting in October. Anthony Hopkins, perhaps best known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, comes across just as creepy and unnerving as he did back in the ’90s and should add a serious dash of sinister to the mix for HBO’s Westworld.

Westworld premieres on October 2nd on HBO.
