Report: ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel officially enters development

Man of SteelMan of Steel is getting a sequel. At this point, why the fuck not? It’s the least worst out of the three shitty, shitty entries into the DC Extended Universe. I mean, it’s still shitty. But least. And Geoff Johns is now DC Entertainment President and has spoken about the Man of Steel needing to be a colorful, inspiring figure. So let’s green light the movie! Worst Case Ontario? It sucks like the rest of them

CBR:

Superman returns! According to TheWrap, a sequel to 2013’s “Man of Steel” has entered development at Warner Bros.

Though “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” followed the events of “Man of Steel,” the film focused on an amalgamation of characters, including Batman and Wonder Woman. However, this new film will be a true solo outing for the character, despite his death in “Batman v Superman.” According to the report, “Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.”

CBR has reached out for comment.

As it stands, Warner Bros. has claimed two dates for as-yet-unannounced DC Films: October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. Though confirmed, Ben Affleck’s solo “Batman” also has no release official release date.

Last year, “Mad Max: Fury Road” director George Miller was rumored to helm the “Man of Steel” sequel, though he later revealed that reports about his involvement with “Man of Steel 2” are “probably not true.” Nonetheless, he did share how he might approach the character of Superman if he had a shot at it.

Superman will next appear in “Justice League,” which stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons and J. K. Simmons and opens on November 17, 2017.
