‘Prey’ Gameplay Trailer: I Can’t See It…But It Sees Me

Fuck, I want me some Prey. If this trailer is any indication, the title is pitching right into my wheelhouse of geek interests. Monsters? Check. Deserted Space Station? Check. Thin walls behind reality and non-reality? Check. Fuck, I need me some Prey.

Polygon:

Bethesda Softworks premiered a new trailer for the upcoming Prey reboot at QuakeCon today. Watch it above for a brief look at how the first-person shooter plays, interspersed with looks at several of the game’s battlegrounds.

Players assume the role of Morgan Yu, a test subject for human experiments who seeks to find out the truth behind a futuristic, alien-infested space station. Morgan can be either male or female, according to a recent interview with the game’s director, but will be tasked with gunning down enemies while watching fellow station dwellers fight to survive either way.

It’s our first new look at Prey since E3 2016, when Bethesda announced the game during its press conference. Arkane Studios is developing the title, which is neither a sequel to nor remake of the 2006 game. This version of Prey is instead referred to as a “re-imagining of the IP.”

Slated for a 2017 release, Prey will be available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. We’ll have more on the game and other Bethesda titles out of this year’s QuakeCon, so check back in for more coverage.
