It’s my one-year anniversary today, yo. The Wife and I. Dang hitched. I don’t feel much regarding it, though. Spoke about it with the better half, and we’re both like, you know. Shrug emoji. The date that sticks out to the both of us is our initial date. Feels more genuine than the $20,000+ back-patting we threw for…our parents a year ago.
I mean, don’t get me wrong.
It was a great night.

Legally bound. My name superimposed over hers (though if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t have gave a fuck if she kept hers).

We came home from the honeymoon, and resumed living our lives. Been together for 7+ years at that time, living together for 4+ years at that time.
Same ole, same ole.
The rest of the year? Whole different cookie, yo. Getting a house, getting a puppy? Them shits changed the paradigm. But marriage?
Eh! Chose the right person for the wrong event but the right way to spend the rest of my life. Romantic? Not romantic? I don’t fucking know.
