Listen, I know this really isn’t reporting much. But I’m pumped, nay!, jacked, nay!, jacked+pumped for the sequel to my favorite film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So I’m going to happily consume any flimsy pseudo-news wrapped in the franchise’s spectral form that comes my way.

CBR:

As rehearsals for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” get underway, more and more behind the scenes pics have emerged featuring the cast getting back into the “Guardians” groove. Writer/director James Gunn posted a pic showing franchise leads Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana andDave Bautista rehearsing, and now Pratt has posted a pic of his own.

The actor, who reprises the role of Star-Lord in the sequel, shared a pic on Instagram of Peter Quill’s trusty Walkman. And yes, the tape inside the cassette player is “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” — the tape left for Quill by his mother in the closing moments of 2014’s “Guardians.”

The soundtrack to the first “Guardians” film was an integral storytelling component, and “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” looks to be no different. Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the franchise, revealed that a mix CD of the soundtrack was mailed to him along with the script last November. Pratt also wrote that it “feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2” and that he promises it is going ot be “the greatest spectacle film of all time.”

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” opens on May 5, 2017.
