‘EPISODE VII’ News: UK Stage Actress Up For Role

THE STAR WARS SWINE.

Here’s some gnarly news. The promise that Episode VII will see some new faces in key roles hasn’t been confirmed or denied because…well, no fucking casting has been announced! But! Recent rumor-news-nebulous-things suggest this promise shall hold.

Just this week we learned from Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn that “Star Wars: Episode VII” has already begun filming and that casting is nearly complete, which means the search for the locked cast has only intensified. Aside from Adam Driver as the closest to a confirmed new role, a torrent of contenders including John Boyega, Ed Speelers, Matthew James Thomas, Ray Fisher, and Jesse Plemons have lingered still—so why not add a new potential frontrunner to the crowd?

THR reports J.J. Abrams and the “Star Wars” producing team have set about fulfilling their promise of fresh faces in the new franchise entry, as Oxford-educated newcomer Maisie Richardson-Sellers is rumored for an undisclosed supporting role. Caution is of course required—the outlet claims talk denying Sellers’ involvement is just as prevalent so far. If true though, the stage actress (“For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide”, “Mephisto”) could be playing a “young black or mixed-race woman who may be a descendent of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi”.
