The Dude’s High 5s: Horror Movie Icons
Happy Halloween everyone. Hopefully most of you will be spending the day watching cheesy horror flicks and handing out candy to children dressed as various characters from pop culture. I will not be doing either. I despise horror movies and I live in a neighborhood where trick or treating is not popular. However I’m willing to put my prejudice aside to bring you my top 5 iconic horror movie characters. Also, side note, I know virtually nothing about these characters, I am just shoehorning this one in there because it is Halloween and it makes sense. Feel free to lambaste me all you want.

‘COMMUNITY’ returns in February in old timeslot. America strikes back!
Not content to let Canadian Community fans have a day of fist-pumps and glory, the shows US return has gotten an official date. Like, two months after our Canadian friends. This is bogus.
Disney: New ‘STAR WARS’ trilogy planned, treatment for EPISODE VII done.
Disney ain’t just buying Star Wars, they are making fucking moves. They aren’t just spitting about Episode VII, they’ve already got a treatment for the bastard done. Woah.
‘GRAND THEFT AUTO’ officially dropping in SPRING 2013. Wee?
I don’t know. Are we supposed to be enthused by this? Spring is a pretty big season. Like, I’m thinking April. It better be April. Didn’t GTA IV drop in April? I like cookies. Do you?
DISNEY buys LUCASFILM; EPISODE 7 due in 2015. What that frak.
I go down for a nap, and I wake up in this world. I’m not certain I haven’t slid through dimensions. Who are you fucking people? No serious, what the fuck? This is surreal. I’ve always said it: theStar Wars universe rules. I’ve said it to countless people across two conventions. If Disney can field a talented bunch for Episode 7 (and provided it is happening), this could be tremendous. Or it could be another dry, spiked dog dick penetrating my childhood without consent.

For the love of games.
It’s not often I feel the need to defend games, whether it be individual titles or the medium as a whole. However, after a week that saw Eurogamer lose Robert Florence and face the threat of libel charges after voicing some pretty blatant truths about the games industry, it seems only fitting that games, and the culture surrounding them, should be studied and scrutinized more often.
With that in mind, perhaps we should consider what makes the medium so great, so worthy of our passion and just what it is that we should strive to preserve. In this case, I want to talk about who makes it so great.

Fuck continuity. It serves, more often than not, only to incite fanboy rage and nit-picking. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that most of my favorite comic tales are Elseworlds or tales that take place in the future. They’re liberated from constrains that serve more to jerk off history than to give the world a richness. I’m feeling you, John Hodgman!
