BEN AFFLECK being approached to direct ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’ movie? Wait? Huh? What?

Ben Affleck. Directing Justice League? It just might be.

Briefly: Variety is reporting Warner Bros. has approached actor/director Ben Affleck to direct their DC Comics superhero team up film, Justice League.

So uh, there you go! My Boston blood prohibits me from shit talking Ben Affleck. We don’t mention it, but all of us have been forced to sign at gunpoint (the gun is shaped like a baseball bat, forged from the remnants of Ted Williams’ spine) a document pledging we won’t speak ill of Benny. That said, even if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t dog on the good sir. Certainly he has starred in some resplendent turds, but the dude is a fine director.  How does his style mesh with an extravaganza like Justice League? I’m not certain. However, I won’t write the concept off at first blush.

    Deadline is now reporting he is not going to do it (according to his reps). They kinda make a good point in saying he would probably only do it if he could figure out a way to have it be ‘favorably comparable’ to Whedon’s Avengers and I dont see that happening.
